Quick Basil Tomato Soup

Ingredients

Add (28 ounces each) crushed tomatoes to shopping list 2 cans (28 ounces each) crushed tomatoes

Add (14 ounces) chicken broth to shopping list 3/4 cup (14 ounces) chicken broth

Add fresh basil, stacked, rolled and sliced to make thin ribbons (chiffonade) to shopping list 20 leaves fresh basil, stacked, rolled and sliced to make thin ribbons (chiffonade)

Add granulated sugar to shopping list 1 teaspoon granulated sugar

Add heavy cream to shopping list 1 cup heavy cream

Add (1 stick) butter to shopping list 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

Directions:

In a large saucepan, bring the tomatoes and broth to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add basil and sugar. Reduce heat to low; stir in cream and butter. Warm until butter is melted.
